Rzeczpospolita published an interview with José Maria Ricciardi about the increasing role of Warsaw as a financial hub for the CEE region. In the publication, Mr. Ricciardi mentioned that Haitong is the second largest investment bank in China, which is the main financial center in Asia.
Additionally, after taking over Portuguese BESI, Haitong achieved a stronger position in Europe, including Poland. Throughtout 2016 China invested in Europe USD 62 bn, which is more than it had invested in all the previous year. The CEO of Haitong Bank pointed out that increasing capital will also affect Poland, which has become a more influential economy in the EU.
