Spanish IE Business School helds China-Western Economic Cooperation Forum

Mr. Hiroki Miyazato, Chairman and CEO of Haitong Bank, was one of the speakers

On June 7, the representatives of Chinese and Spanish community gathered and explored the potential opportunities to promote economic, cultural and educational cooperation seeking bilateral development in the future in the context of Chinese “Belt and Road” strategy plan. Our Chairman and CEO, Mr. Hiroki Miyazato, was one of the speakers at the forum and talked about the Haitong 2025 Strategy Plan.

Haitong Bank is now supporting its business on 2 pillars, China Angle and EMFI, has 3 key areas - Investment Banking, Markets (mainly on FICC) and Alternative Investment, and will mainly focus on 5 geographies - Brazil, Iberia, Poland, UK and USA. “The potential of the Spanish market is huge, Haitong will be committed on creating more developed financial products”, said Mr. Miyazato.

The participants of the forum included Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, President of IE University and Dean of IE Business School in Madrid; Fernando Aparicio, representative of Alibaba’s Spanish partner; Alicia Tamames, director of Investment in Spanish-Asian Affairs; Xu Jing, director of World Tourism Organization Asia Pacific and Monica Figuerola, general manager of Asialink Spain (Ctrip partner in Spain).
